Charity Gig for "Headway Hertfordshire" - the people who helped Mick after his injury
Wow - it's been ages since a website update - really sorry for that.On Friday 6th of May we are playing a charity gig for the charity "Headway". The gig will be held at Welwyn Sports and Social Club, Ottway Walk, Welwyn AL6 9AS from 8pm till midnight. Further details are available by clicking this link to the Gig Guide or the one in the menu above.
Many of you will know that back in 2013, Mick - our amazing guitarist - fell from a ladder whilst working and sustained a terrible head injury. After several days in a coma, he awoke with dreadful injuries, paralysis in his hands and arms, but worst of all almost total memory loss - he didn't even recognise his family!!
Thankfully, his physical movement slowly came back, and his memory also gradually began to recover. Much of this was due to his own dogged determination to get well again, and the brilliant doctors and nurses at The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, where he was flown by Air Ambulance, but also since he left hospital by the help of the incredible brain injury charity Headway, who have helped him recover (and continue to do so) and without whom he would never have got back to playing guitar as if nothing had happened.
Tickets are just £20 and include a buffet and a raffle. Please come and support this amazing cause as well as hearing Mick and the rest of us rock the night away. Tickets are available from Headway Hertfordshire, please phone 0300 330 1455 or email enquiries@headway-herts.org.uk.
Incidentally, we've also had a rehearsal, and learnt some new numbers and brought back a few old ones so there'll be plenty of great stuff to listen to on the night. Hope you can all make it.

It's a great venue, which has live music every Firday and has an awesome in-house PA system run by superb sound engineers - you'll never hear us sounding so good! We really hope you can make it along on the night. You can find more details on the Gig Guide page.New Numbers (and some old ones re-learnt)
Having recntly brought back some numbers that for one reason or another we hadn't played for a while, and they went down a storm, so we thought we should finalise our current playlist and re-learn those other songs that have also been missing for a while - they won't all appear at once, but look out for them over the next few gigs. You can check out the revised current repertoire on our Playlist page by clicking the link. While we were at it, we also came up with a couple of ideas for new numbers. Their titles remain a closely guarded secret for now, but once we've learnt them and rehearsed them, they should be making an appearance at gigs in the spring - we'll give you some warning.
Awesome first gig in 2015
We had a fantastic opening gig of the year at the Coach & Horses in Stevenage Old Town at the end of January, where we brought back a few numbers we hadn't played for a while to a great reception. Thanks to everyone that came along and sang, danced and cheered - we hope you all had as good a time as we did.Announcing our New Bass Player
We are very pleased to announce our new bass player: Richard Hurford.Rich has been a friend of the band for longer than we can all remember. In fact, he was the founding bass player in our previous incarnations The Sports and Easy Street.
After a short 26 year break he’s back in the saddle with a refurbished bass and a new amp. He's even splashed out on a new set of strings – apparently the old ones had gone a bit rusty after 30 years!
We are all thoroughly looking forward to having Rich as part of the band again. Please come along and see us at our next two gigs at The King's Arms in Bedford this Saturday (9th Aug) or the following week at The George & Dragon in Eaton Socon.
We are really looking forward to playing all the gigs in the diary this year and beyond. The rest of the year's schedule can be found by clicking this gig guide link or the one at the top of the page.
In the meantime, we hope you are enjoying the summer, and we look forward to seeing you in Bedford and then in Eaton Socon.
